Had my normal trip to South Leverton tonight, (Clasic Bike meet on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday each month).
It was drizzling all the way there and still on and off when I arrived, so did not expect too many oldies.
Surprisingly still quite a few oldies turned up, (bikes and blokes!), but the biggest surprise was a Hesketh.
It's a long time since I've seen one, and the last one was probably in a museum.
I was never their biggest fan but I had forgotten how agricultural they were, not in a Harley way, it's just that they are built like tanks. The rear brake pedal probably saw service on a tank.
There was an older V Twin nearby, an HRD whch was actually a lot older, but so much better, but I've always loved Vinnies.
Lots of other stuff, the usual classic Triumphs, Nortons, Velocettes, Tritons, BSA Gold Stars, A10s etc., plus some tastie jap stuff, like Z1s and a really nice RG500, and the usual 50s Dukes plus a Desmosedici.
Well worth a trip if you are ever in the area, just over the Trent from Gainsborough.
Seen at South Leverton tonight.
