finally after months of hunting, I've found the bastard oil leak that has been causing chaos on the exhaust! Topped up the oil this morning and started the bike up, and checked the level. Noticed a puff of smoke off the exhaust collector and though here we go again. After the superb clean last week, lo and behold, there's a drop of fresh oil at the bottom of the drain plug by the oil filter. Give it a wipe and it returns. Now to get a decent washer on there!

Cleaning is not just cosmetic, it helps with maintenance as well :-)

I've used a fibre washer on there in the past. I appreciate its a big "no no" for a lot of folk but its always worked for me

I will have a look next time I get the filter done, may just be some dirt has got in there, or may need a new one.

Oops I thought you meant the drain plug on the sump.

Must read these posts more thoroughly in future :smt017

I could probably live with it, but that drop of oil on the xhaust eventually spreads all over the back of the engine casing and I don't want to give Nooj nightmares at the end of the year when I get the bike ACF50'd
