So, I picked up some perfect leo vince SBK aluminium slip ons 2nd hand for 250 euros.
Nothing so special about that I hear you say?
well, ok, however I didn't like them being aluminium, especially since my bike has a black frame etc. Hence, painting was to be undertaken!
It was easy : drill out rivets, sand down, spray 6 coats 5 mins apart of barbecue high temperature matt black paint, leave to dry 1hr, rivet back together, take out for a spin to "cook" the paint.
I also polished the "leo vince SBK" logo to remove all paint from it using a wire brush mounted on my drill. I was going to paint them again but decided i really liked the naked aluminium effect (though it doesn't show well in the photos, it looks good in real life!)
tip : I set the silencers with one end on my work bench and one end on a box. This allowed me to easily roll them along over and over while spraying them with paint.
done!
I looooooove the result. hope you do too
