Suspension linkage

#1 Post by paganman » Tue May 10, 2011 10:11 pm

Refitting my Ohlin's after a bit of tinkering, and I thought I'd slap some grease on the linkage bearings. Wish I hadn't bothered now as attached to my greasey finger were 3 roller bearings!
Looks like one of the bearing cages has started to disintegrate, and the others look a bit 2nd hand too. Just checked on line and it appears to cost around £110 for the 6 bearings, seals and sleeves. Does anyone know the bearing code for these, so I can remove some of the financial sting?
Thanks in advance

The linkage bearings are UNCAGED full compliment bearings. They are not as easy to source as the caged variety but are better for low-speed, high-load applications such as in these linkages.

..... and, of course, all those bearing codes are in the Forum's Aprilia Technical section ......

Got mine by removing the bearings and slapping them on the counter of my local bearing shop. 5 minutes later., nice new bearings and seals at a fraction of the Aprilia prices.

BTY, the needles are meant to come out, nothing holding them in once the shaft is out

I'll check my manual next time before fearing the worst.

Many thanks for your help.
