what coolant are folk using?

#1 Post by Aladinsaneuk » Sat May 07, 2011 10:28 am

before i change the coolant - one of the jobs pre shropshire, just curious as to what folk have been using....

I do have to go to halfords for some other bits and pieces for the car, and was wondering about http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... 29902#dtab

any one any other suggestions?

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Last time I changed mine, I used Engine Ice

Might also be worth seeing whether Opie Oils have got anything good on offer.

I use the same stuff from Halfords, never had any problems with it, don't know how much more you can say about coolant :smt017

As far as i can see it does the job for a good price, even better if you have a Halfords trade card.

However i buy it like this

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... zone=PDPz1

It's a couple of quid more expensive but if you mix it half and half with distilled water, which is cheap as chips, it makes twice as much.

TBH I can't really review it other than it seems to act as a coolant and it's a nice shade of blue.

Think I got it on an offer and so it wasn't much different in price to the normal stuff.

Would I use it again? Well, I've nothing against it so it would depend how much it costs compared to the alternative.
Would I pay more for it? Not much .... but it is quite a nice shade of blue.

.... and that's how it stayed ..... we'll only get better now that Boothroyd has gone - at least we've been playing some better football win, draw or loose.
