2004 Falco for sale

#1 Post by coogers » Thu Apr 28, 2011 10:45 am

Hi.

Thinking of sticking my Falco on eBay and thought I might ask for some advice here before I do, if that's OK?

Detailed description and photos: http://tinyurl.com/6dhvbk8.

15k on clock, tyres and chain/sprockets 2,200 miles ago, last service (by me) 750 miles ago in Nov 2008, 3 stamps in book. US side stand.

Leo Vince twin exhausts (plus the standard ones), Baglux tank cover, ABBA stand.

Any thoughts on a reasonable price to ask? I was thinking of asking £3,100 for the lot.

Thanks,
Martin.

Nowt wrong with asking advice! Hopefully the lads will be along and pass comment for you.
I dont think it sounds too bad a price to ask, your own comments during the service paragraph about the brake pad thickness tick the box for me to be thinking 'higher price end'. -It's been looked after, regardless of whether it's councours or not (tis tidy looking though!) and that shows and counts over the next bike in the listings... i wouldve chosen that over a couple of others ive seen listed on ebay :smt023 (im not after one though..!)

Hope you sell it and thanks for considering ARS for sounding out the sale and price. It's nice to see the site be regarded at that level.

I would say that 3100 is dealership price land - but that is my opinion!

It is a good example and has a fair few extras - the most important thing - the side stand has been done so thats all good

I reckon that you will likely get offers of 2500 and i suspect that private buyer around 2700 would be about right
(Just my opinion i stress)

To ensure that the vultures get excited, you do realise that the pipes would be worth north of 200? abba stand at 60 and bagster cover is 50.... just in case you do need to take a lower offer with out the extras!

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Hi and welcome to the forum .... even if on the path out of Aprilia ownership (unless you have a sudden change of heart :smt002 )

I won't claim to be an authority on prices as, like many on here, my Falco is a "keeper" so following prices is not something I do that much of .... and we all know that Falcos true worth is much more than the price they command.

That said, I'd not disagree with Aladinsaneuk's assessment. A while back I'd have said you must be joking to think that price might be possible but there does seem to have been a bit of a resurgence in prices - I think this is due to the Falco often featuring favourably in magazine reviews and also a boost to the used bike market following the significant hike in new bike prices (mainly due to exchange rate changes).
Now I'd think that price unlikely but not a silly price.

As Kwackerz says it looks nice - hope you get what you want for it .... or even better, decide to ride it more regularly and keep it - you'll be very welcome on this forum.

Definitely sell the Leo's separately! Do you have the springs with them?

That's in quite good condition judging by the photos, If it was mine I'd ask £2800 and be happy with £2650 (only going by your photos of course), selling the other bits on their own.

Thanks for all your comments chaps, much appreciated.

Nooj, I do have the four springs, I just didn't put them on for the photos. Seems a shame, but I suppose selling the cans separately would be sensible. The mounting bracket under the seat might be a pain to get at - I'll see how that goes first. What would you ask for them?

I can't see why you wouldn't get high 2 k for it for sure , it's in vgc and has the extras as well . Normally now the people buying Falcos know what they're looking for and if you've made you mind up to get a certain bike you're normal ready to pay what it takes to get a good one .......lets face it there's not too many around now....You could always keep it for when they really go up in price though ... :smt003

She may have to go :smt009

Yours is clean and totally standard

book price for private sale is 1500 ish - dealer around 2000

personally i would go for 2000 as is but also depends how you sell - ebay i would stick it on a buy it now of 2450 and start bidding at 1750....

for that price it is an awful lot of bike
