The vessel had 100 people, including a pilot, onboard at the time of the incident

I so hope they mean an aeroplane Pilot and not a harbourmaster type Pilot..

Do not pass go, do not collect 200 quid and here's your P45. :smt011

I suppose they could be referring to a Falco pilot.. :smt005

Hmmm maybe it was a Pilot Whale - they seem to choose to run themselves aground on a fairly regular basis.

Enjoy your extra enforced riding period ...... and when you do get out to the oil field, do bring some back for you friends on the forum - it's all got a bit expensive for having fun when obtained through the normal distribution channels .... all a bit inconsistent when BP were giving it away for free to those in coastal regions of Florida last year.

It was fun for a while , we had a hole in the boat but water tight doors working so they made us sail to Norway to a small dry dock in the middle of nowhere to get it fixed.......Hiding in shame i think !!!

Will be back in the Shetlands again today ( 22nd ) as i'm crew changing and heading home......weather permitting !! Got a flight to Birmingham then hire car home to gods country ( PZ CORNWALL ) , hoping the M5 is OK and then the A30 after that .......starting the drive about 21:00 hrs so it's going to be fu#king cold......OR i could be getting a night in the Shetlands and it will be a night on the lash in Cap'tin Flints..... !!

Good place the flints....last time in we lost our tech supervisor , he had a dis-agreement with some bloke who just happened to be hard as nails......think he put about four blokes down before walking away including our tech man......LOL.... Our man had to miss the second half of his trip due to some facial markings shall we say!!

Looks like fun riding round the Island , i bet it has some nice quite roads !?

Ahh that night! I didn't get a chance to apologise to your tech guy lol
Yeah the roads are good, nice twisty's etc just not enough of them. It's good to get down on the mainland for some different scenery though.

Scotland does have some GREAT roads and is made for a good day’s blast that's for sure , keep meaning to take the time and do a tour round from Aberdeen up and over to the west coast then down, summer time obviously!!

Had a hell of a drive home last night....Left Manchester airport at midnight and got to Birmingham in under 50 mins which isn't too bad BUT then the snow hit and I was down to one lane on the M5 :smt013 , nightmare , I have to say for the first time ever I was following lorries so they could clear a path. Every time I went into the middle lane the traction control would start flashing and the car would go into the "feel funny” mode..........slippery !!! Was like that all the way till I got on the A30 for about 15 miles then it was clear ..ish... all the way down getting to Penzance at 5 in the morning ......never again :smt009
