#1 Post by davebms » Sun Apr 10, 2011 7:10 pm

all went well to-day, sold my other bike (thanks for the spam up last year nooj that defo helped sell it) may have some money for some stainless steel bits for the falco :smt001 so cleaned falco looked at things never done. change coolant every 2 years, its 7 years old, so undo bungs splash all out .flush wiv hose no dirty water all very clean ! it looked like 100% anti freeze that came out , book states 2.5 litres suitable for -35 dec

so to-days question, is it straight anti-freeze for the falco :smt017

50/50 mix usually.
Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handle bars to the saddle.

Wot 'E Said!

If you're being a perfectionist, flush the system out with, and mix the coolant with, distilled water.

Which reminds me, some twat borrowed my refractometer about 4 years ago and never brought the fekker back. :smt013

That's me awake all night trying to remember who I lent it to.. Bloody expensive it was!

I used some fancy ready-mixed stuff called "Engine Ice" last time I did mine.

If you look in the workshop manual you will see that Aprilia specifies the following (just in case you don't have the manual to hand .....)

HAHA!! Got the fecker back and it's still in it's box! RESULT!!

It looks like this: http://www.reichertai.com/files/brochur ... 005303.PDF

Highly recommended if you want to get proper geek about batteries and coolant specific gravities.
