garmin maps 2011
if some one was naughty and went too http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/5515743 ... 2011.10_NT
and then followed the instructions at http://www.haklabs.com/2010/garmin-2011-gps-update/
(And used map code 2204 instead of 2283)
then they could theoretically try the new 2011 city maps for europe and the UK
personally I would never condone such things but I felt it only fair to share such things with folk.....

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

a friend of mine with a nautical bent and eyepatch has been playing with this
once the maps are unlocked, any garmin connected to that computer can be updated
I would suggest that a 4gb sd card inside the satnav would take the whole of europe easily, though the uk is around 250mb and will fit easily on the internal memory of most
oh - this will not work on a mac btw

Sorry

well andy - I said that that hack would not work on a mac
I did not say that I had sorted this on my mac years ago - infact I think I had installed the 2011 maps back in 2009... LOL
(A similar system is available on the mac but I knew most here used windows so....)
I also looked at the lifetime maps offer - but for assorted reasons, like having 4 garmins in the house, I decided not to go down that route - but I would say it is worth while for most at 100 quid for life
and btw - this system will not work for multiple sat navs - the key lock code is specific to each device
