I'm Not Going

#1 Post by D-Rider » Tue Mar 15, 2011 8:29 pm

Heard today that my trip to Japan the week after next is cancelled. Until further notice, all of the company's employees from Europe can only travel there if the business is extremely urgent.

Fortunately our company has not been as badly affected as many and has sent teams and resources to the devastated areas to help with evacuees and the relief operation.

The motoGP sounds doubtful too.
In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular.

Yeah - Motegi is north of Tokyo so I really doubt that will be on

Just noticed this linked on our portal.

It was volcanic ash last year.

Sounds like a very good idea Andy, with the problems now spreading to reactors 5 and 6.
Yes, evidently Motegi will be postponed until later in the year.

Think its for the best Andy. We have some good friends just south of Tokyo. We met them when when we lived in the North east and Kaz worked over here for Nissan. We'd looked on the map to see where they live relative to the damage but hadn't heard from them until Monday evening. They are safe but now really worried about the breakdown in the country's infrastucture and the nuclear threat.

I've never felt so emotionally connected to any problems across the world where we know people but this one is something else. You must have contacts out there that you have been concerned for.
