Bit of nostalgia....... (not bikes)

... for anyone who used to rally or marshall back in the day......

I spent a couple of hours in the forest near my home last weekend watching the Rallye Sunseeker (don't ask me why they spell rally with an 'e', not my idea!)

Pics here

Howard's going to have to go for a lie down when he sees those pics - the excitement will be just too much :smt002

Nice to see the big Healy being used in anger.
These have been my favourite car since my teens ( a long while ago ).
Way out of my price range though.

Nice pics again BG.
Last time i was at a rally was the RAC when it last came through Chatsworth.
Can still see Colin McCrea (RIP), flying through the air for what seemed like a hundred yards, just after the tyre cars and the classics had been jumping about ten feet.

I think it's great to see all those 'historic' (yep, that's what they call them) cars being really used - tho I have to say they weren't driving them as hard as we used to back in the 60s! Which is why the pics were all a bit sedate.......

In my day they'd have been going round those bends all crossed up and sideways!
