5000 mile service...whats required.

#1 Post by exupmonkey » Tue Mar 13, 2007 8:09 pm

Hi all....the bronze beastie needs its 5000 service but I cant be arsed taking it to a dealer. I have changed the oil/filters etc before without any hassle so was thinking about doing the service myself. Can anyone tell me what else is required? The warranty is out so a dealer stamp isn't so important now.
Cheers.

It's all in the handbook, Go here if you don't have one.

Basically it's change Oil & Filter and check/clean/adjust everything else:
plugs, lights, air filter, switches, fluids, coolant, tyres, pads, chain, fuel pipes, idling, coolant system, brakes, bearings (wheel & steering), check all the nuts & bolts are tight, change the fork oil... and make sure everything appears to be in the right place and nothing is falling off. :smt001

...and they charge us HOW MUCH for that??? :smt010

...and it's a 4687mile service; you're late!!! :smt003
