Airbox mod zzzzzz!

#1 Post by furygan man » Wed Mar 02, 2011 5:07 pm

Just a quicky, does anyone know if 1 meter of rubber seal will be enough to go around the top of the lower half of the stock airbox? I know i could buy 2 meters and cut it down but don't want too if 1 metre will be enough?

buy some black rubber hose.. the excess could be used for various other tasks..
Slit along the length of the bit you need for the airbox to create a rubber seal strip...

Bugger, I measured mine quite accurately when I was getting my stuff and I'll be damned if I can remember how much I got.

I'll try and get a tape on mine tonight if I remember.

Apologies furry, I didn;t get a chance to have a look last night. IIRC I had to get more than a metre and the bloke would only sell it in whole metre lengths so I had to get 2m which would make sense as I still have a bloody great chunk left. I'm guessing a bit, but I'd go for 1.5m.

That ebay auction seems a bit steep to me, I got mine at a shop that specialises in old car rubber (a bit bespoke, but I'd expect you'd find somewhere in the UK, or a kit car manufacturers supplier).

Good luck

the larger halfords carry that sort of stuff in stock.....

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...
