Lidl Specials 7th Mar '11 - Bike Kit

#1 Post by D-Rider » Tue Mar 01, 2011 12:16 am

Not to be outdone by Aldi, Lidl once again have their bike kit coming in to stores next Monday - get what you want before it goes.

I'm liking the look of those shortie lace-up boots .... I expect Pete will go for those other, cheaper, boots as they will compliment his pink hat ....

The oversuit will have to do - just a shame it's not a 2-piece

the performance top and trousers look very interesting

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

I'm always amused by something being labelled 'motorcycle socks'. I bought my daughter some 'boarding socks' (snowboarding that is) - they were apparently different from 'ski socks' - but they both look just like the 'motorcycle socks' apart from the colours!

They can only be worn on Motorcycle Feet - isn't it obvious :smt009

Am very very pleased with my new helmet - 40 quid and a very nice bit of kit!

Am fairly certain it is a caberg

If you want one - go early there was not much stock left at nine....

You might be right about it being a Caberg Pete, I tried on an XL this morning and it just wouldn't fit, but it felt exactly the same as the Caberg I tried on a couple of weeks ago.
But at £40 they are an absolute steal, complete with replacement liner pads, helmet bag and even a spare visor included!!! just wish they would fit my obviously wierd shaped head :smt003

Always worth asking the manager if they don't have your size, my local store rang the next one in Dewsbury and they put me a helmet on one side. As Pete has said their stock had almost disappeared by 09:30 this morning
I did buy 2 pairs of motorcycle socks though so not a complete waste of a trip

as i understand it

helmets were in 4 sizes and a choice of three colours

each store got two of each - so 24 helmets per store

I know mine was picked up at 0815 this morning and was the last of the matt black mediums they had - they only had one other medium left as well

Popped out to Lidl at lunchtime today and bought an oversuit.
Passed on the shorty boots - they didn't look as though they were particularly good quality - still I did buy the Aldi ones and 2 pairs of boots in a week would just have been greedy.

What size oversuit did you buy?
I bought an XXL as I thought if it had to fit over me when also wearing leathers with armour etc., I might just need it.
Got it home and realised that XXL was actually big, but the XXL bit really meant EXTRA EXTRA LOOOONNNGGGG.

The legs were around two feet too long, so will fit somebody about 7'9".
Was going to try an XL but the legs on that one will probably only be 18 inches or a foot too long, so won't bother, it goes back today.

However I did get a tank bag and a kidney belt that look very good value.
Went to three shops all of them just had between 2 and 3 SMALL helmets left, then again it was the afternoon of the first day!

I went for the XXL for the same reason - to go over my leathers.

Not unpacked them yet ..... looks like they might be going back when I've had a look then ....

I never got to trying them on, just unpacked the suit and held the top up near my shoulders and the legs were stretched out on the floor in front of me!
Don't think your legs are much different from mine.

No problem changing stuff or returning, like I did yesterday.
Still happy with the tank bag and kidney belt.

Then again there is an alternative for the over suit ............
