Fast idle open, throttle body bleed screws 1 turn out each, it's not supposed to idle at the redline is it? Might need to re-set the TPS tomorrow. Reckon the mix might be slightly off as well, lots of un-burnt fuel spewing out of the pipes. The backfire nearly made Debz hit the garage roof :smt005

Still, after a bit of charging the battery it did fire up straight away, even after sitting for six months and me being let loose to play with the throttle bodies.

Looking at Facebook it seems that you've gone and had your TBs bored ..... big revs like this are usually down to poorly fitting butterflies or air bleed passageways not being sorted out.

I've lost the links I saved about this but a bit of a search has thrown these up:

I had this on a tzr125 years ago. We'd stripped the carbs to give them a clean and and mess with the needles but when we put them back together we put the slide in backwards. End result was, as you say, loud noises as the bike started at the redline and loads of unburnt fuel all over the shed. We panicked a fair bit before we rememberred hte kill switch :smt003

Had a similar thing happen with my mates GT750 kettle, fitted the cheap adjustable Jota bars, started her up,

redline :smt087

Hit kill switch :smt023 still redline :smt103

Getting a bit worried now :smt017

Pulled off plug caps still fekking redline :smt119

put front wheel against wall slammed into gear and let out clutch bike stopped, oh how we laughed :smt005 :smt005 :smt005
