Aldi Specials 3rd Mar '11 - Bike Kit

#1 Post by D-Rider » Sun Feb 27, 2011 5:15 pm

Aldi once again have their bike kit coming in to stores this Thursday - get what you want before it goes.

Time for a new pair of boots methinks - maybe some gloves too.
Bit disappointed they have no lightweight waterproofs to go over your leathers this time ....

The lidl stuff looks interesting - am almost prepared to bet those helmets are unbadged cabergs....

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

new boots have been bought - may not be the best looking, but fit well, are waterproof and they have a decent amount of support and protection for the ankle....

as I arrived at aldi, there were a few bikers about - most seemed happy with the gear available, though i did notice no one was trying the helmets on.....

I also picked up a decent pair of gloves that were 15 quid.

I tried the helmet today and it seemed to fit well but I couldn't get my glasses on!

I recently won a helmet in a raffle and had the same problem - no I wonder if it's more to do with the glasses! They fit in my old helmet cos the interior is totally shot. I need some new glasses anyway so I'm going to go along and see if I can find any frames that fit in the helmet I won. And in the meantime I think I'll get my old helmet out - the one I've been keeping as a spare, it's old but hey I'm a triker!
The tragedy of old age is not that one is old, but that one is young.

I bought two pairs of textile trousers (one pair each for 2 of my sons) and 2 pairs of boots (one pair for my eldest son and a pair to put by for me for when my current ones wear out). Might go back for some gloves.

Will be hitting Lidl on monday for the oversuit :)

Got the Aldi boots; they don't look bad for the price, tho' they do feel a little bulky compared to my Sidis. I'll be giving them a test run tomorrow.

Also got their 'Windstopper' shirt & pants; it'll be interesting to see if it lives up to the name, and copes with the effects of IBS

Wore the undershirt and socks today. Felt a bit like Clarke Kent so not all bad. I too will hit Lidle on Monday to check out the tank bag for the BM and the rucksacks maybe as soft paniers for the Falco. Better avoid the kryptonite locks though....

Well Paddy at least you can be pretty confident their bikes will not be the same colour.
