Bubseywoo is back selling again...

#1 Post by hornetrider » Sun Feb 13, 2011 3:59 pm

...if anyone is interested. My VTR sidestand is pretty good but slightly flexy so I've ordered a bubsywoo one instead.

I'm still on the stock stand, plus the operating arm has broken off.

Are these 'bubseywoo' stands any good?

And where would one find said stand?

The reports I've heard are they are variable in quality from batch to batch.

I heard the last batch was not good.

My research on finding an alternative stand seemed to indicate more people unhhappy with the Bubseywoo stand than for it!

I ended up with a Suzuki K7 stand which is superb. I haven't had it adapted for the sidestand warning light yet and to be honest I may not bother. I've fixed the switch in the "up" position and hidden the switch up behind the frame rails where it can't be seen

I picked up mine brand new of fleabay for £10 posted :smt003

i have a busywoo sidestand, bought it i think in 09 after the bike went over for the first time, imo good quality, stand is still in good condition, only problem was it didnt fold up in enough for my liking, wee bit of adjustment with a grinder and it was spot on. no problems since. bike has been strapped down on ferries a number of times.

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

My thoughts are just as Rooster, mine's been on a few years and it's been perfect. I also had to grind the stop off slightly, but great otherwise.

Also look at Firestorm, Blackbird and old shape Hornet600 stands, they should* bolt straight on to our brackets and use our switches.

What's been the problem with the current bubsywotsit stands?

I've ordered one but if prewarned about any problems I can get it tested before fitting it. Upto 6 months a go I x-rayed stuff for a living, could still get a stand done through the back door.

Ah nuts wasn't aware of any problems, had only heard good reports. Oh well, if it's shite it goes back for a refund.

Yup, that's the position I'm taking, see how it goes on, boot it back if it doesn't.
