Stupid ER-6 Rider

#1 Post by randomsquid » Thu Feb 10, 2011 10:50 pm

Went out to the bike this morning. Wiped the crud off the light. Wiped the speedo and mirrors.
Decided to check chain tension by wiggling it up and down with toecap. Chain suitably wiggly. Noted oil and gunge off chain on boot.

Went to work. Parked. Noticed oil and gunge on boot. Spent ten minutes on knees looking for oil leak...

The tragedy of old age is not that one is old, but that one is young.

You're doing it wrong.. :smt017
Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handle bars to the saddle.

You're right. Don't really need to see the speedo anyways.

At least it's more right than having a GS pin you against a wall when it rolls off the stand as you're trying to crack the wheel nut.

Or getting your boot laces wrapped round the rearsets and ending up in a heap on a carpark.

Or parking a lardtub of a bike on an extreme camber. Mounting with extreme prejudice, missing the bars and rolling off the other side into the road.

But none of those were me...

From what I've seen I'm one of the sane ones. Things I didn't do -

Fall asleep and ride off the side of the Horseshoe - Dad.
Ride my GPz up to a junction and fall off sideways because I'd forgot I wasn't in the car.
Impressive launch on a CBX1000 with back wheel chained to a lamppost.
Wheelied a 125 into a chain link fence and achieved greater acceleration backwards.
Break a C90 in two on a BMX track. Oh wait, that one was me...
