Hi chaps, I'm going to be getting a new lathe this week (hopefully shortly followed by a mill). So if anyone wants any parts made give me a shout. I won't be charging a fortune, just the cost of material, a couple of quid for making and whatever postage costs.
I'm not running it as a business, but these machines aren't cheap so any money I can pick up from doing it will help.
I also have 3D cad so I can make models or drawings first to check what I'm thinking is what you want (I can do this at work so the boss can pay

)

Once I have a mill these should be a walk in the park, I'll have a look into it over the next week or so and see what I can come up. What sort of drop are you looking for? And would you want them moved forwards or backwards at all?

Cool, I'll start doing some measuring up on mine.
The first thing I shall be doing is making myself a set of mirror adaptors so I can fit the RSV ones with built in mirrors

Yes, built in winkers, sorry, having one of those senior moments.
By the way, I'm getting the lathe on Thursday, it can machine up to 200mm diameter and 350mm long

Excellent! I've love that sort of kit at home. What machines have you gone for? Our lathe is a Harrison Alpha servo driven NC jobbie.. We also have two Bridgeport millers, Cincinnati HUGE beast of a thing (can take off 5mm per pass!), Jones & Shipman surface grinder, fly press and arbour press with broach cutters.. Along with the Waterjet cutting machine, there's not a lot we can't do.. I'm the same as you when it comes to pricing though. Machining I can do for a few beers, but have to run Waterjet cut bit's through the company.. Which bumps the prices up. Waterjet consumables ent cheap!..lol..

Forgot to ask which 3D CAD package you're using? We use Solid Edge.

I feel a bit a bit puny now, I only have a little bench lathe :( and soon a bench mill sat next to it
We use solidworks at work, although I am going for a second interview for a job next week, they use inventor there (but I still have a hooky copy of solidworks at home)

Yuck.. Inventor is crap.. Solidworks & Solidedge started out as the same firm.. The two top blokes split and did their own thing. Pretty much the same program though. (solidworks hooky copy.. do tell..lol.)
No need to feel puny. I'd love a bench lathe n' mill at home. It's not the size of the tool that counts, it's how yer use it!
Anyway.. Pictures dude!
