Hel Lines

#6 Post by GregD-UK » Thu Feb 17, 2011 4:05 pm

Hi all,

OK, spoke to "Shaun," going for gold lines with gold connectors :smt007 Normally aaround £60 sods, they will be £48 incl deliver + dreaded vat :smt002 He is sending me a sample of the gold line next week to confirm what it looks like.....

Has all colours in apart from orange (yuck).

Just waiting on the gold coming in... I have just bought some mille calipers 2001-2 with the small pads, so going for the race (two full lines) setup.

Let you know how I get on :smt001

I went for the transparent dark grey Carbo (silly name) lines, black banjos and the 'stealth' look of heat shrink over the ferrules. He was happy to do custom lengths for me as well at no extra cost.

How the hel :smt002 does this discount work ? I ordered a Falco front brake set, 3 piece standard spec + 6" lever link and it was 71 quid with a 25% discount. Thats about 5p cheaper than an online Tuoldo one which would fit.
:smt017

AND after Nooj's big spend got me all excited I was gonna stealthline the Tuono up but when I worked it out it was only £5 dearer than the standard stuff.

Whats going on :smt017 :smt017

I went with HEL because I've had dealings with them before and know they are extremely helpful (I picked up another trick of the trade again this time as it happens). And I could get custom lengths that were done exactly as requested, and in the colours I wanted. Customer service like that seems to be sadly lacking in most places these days.

Took 2 weeks to come and they abused the missis on the phone for daring to ask if their was a problem with the delivery and I reckon it's poor quality myself. They look like they were chucked together without any care, the logos and retainer rubbers are all over the place.
Hope you boys don't get the treatment I received. Bit of a depressing post but I had to get it off me chest.
