Andy McNab reports from Iraq

#1 Post by Kwackerz » Fri Mar 09, 2007 6:38 pm

a. It's in The Sun
b. McNab was involved

All pointing to a rather poor article! Nice to be proven wrong. Rather good to be honest! Definately one of the more accurate ones.

Whats with the blacked out bits, Andy McNabs a known face.

The one bit of the story I don't like is where he says they love the killing, imo thats plain wrong
They are closing in on the enemy, killing them, and they’re loving it.
Then there's
“We’re not victims, and we are actually making a difference here. We’ve taken the fight to them and we’re winning it.”
If they're winning it why have attacks gone from less than 40 to 100+ :smt017

BTW I'm not a lover of ragheads, but I do wonder about the comments that pop up from time to time.

The attacks have gone up,due to the fact they've been given the come on (taking the fight to them)

We fight war in order to bring peace. If you happen to enjoy it along the way, well, it's got to be better than shagging cars..

I can understand what you mean, my ex brother in law fought in the Falklands, now he wasn't a trained frontline soldier, but he shot an argie and he said it was horrible and was grateful that he didn't see any more of them after that (except those captured).

I think I'd prefer shagging cars than to kill someone.

I can't see that it's wrong to enjoy doing what you've been trained for. I don't suppose they think of it in the way that you or I might - when they kill someone they're just removing one of the enemy. No good being half-hearted about a job like that, you've got to do it the best you can and when you're succesful at your job it feels good.

Just my opinion with no experience of the situation except hearing Mike talk about his time in Malaya.
The tragedy of old age is not that one is old, but that one is young.
