So whats happening at Aprilia?
I'm afraid to say it but the latest offerings make the original Ugly Bike look beautiful in my eyes.
Even Ducati looks better/rides better (that is if you ignore the nasty Monster)
They look like Mechano sets from the 50's
Even the factory one looks like a maniac was let loose with a chain saw. Or do they see this as an opportunity to find a designer who can make a nice bike (This IMO invites the home mechanic/designer with a sense of style).

Well I'm sorry if you all think the RSV4 is lovely, its not, big bulky front end and nothing at the back, even the exhaust does nothing for it.
No let me rephrase that the rear end is a tea tray.

The Dosodura, Mana and Shiva the frames look like Mechano they really do, any old bits of tubing lying about will do.
So maybe I lack taste but so do the designers imo.

Funny tea trays round your way, Gio. They tend to work better when they're flat - otherwise the cups fall over and you get spillage.Gio wrote:Well I'm sorry if you all think the RSV4 is lovely, its not, big bulky front end and nothing at the back, even the exhaust does nothing for it.

now if you want to see a tea tray put to good use then take a trip back in time ........ Mule Train

I agree with Gio; there's nothing in the current Aprilia range that appeals to me aesthetically. Never liked that type of frame - I'm sure they're well-designed and well-made, but they do look as if they're recycled from the fuselage structure of a Wellington bomber.

Kawasaki are ruling the roost for fugly bikes at the moment I reckon. Suzuki and Honda have got blandness down to a fine art, Yamaha have some very nice looking kit (except the new Super Mega Fugly Tenere). Even some BMW's look good from certain angles. Ducati are making some seriously sexy kit, but each bike seems to have something nasty on it (multistrada's nostrils, Monster's headlight etc.) Only the Mana makes me want to avert my eyes from the Aprilia range, everything else looks fine. Best looking bikes at the moment I reckon are from KTM.
So I vote: Gio and Mart have no taste
