Falco won't start...

#1 Post by GRFalco » Mon Aug 16, 2010 10:00 am

... hasn't been ridden for a while but has been on an optimate 4 for the duration. Lots of clicking from under the 'hump' and the dash keeps resetting. New battery last year (or maybe year before :O?)

Any ideas?

Battery (despite replacing it last year)

Just a thought on the optimate ..... did you just plug it in to an optimate that you leave on all the time?
They need to be turned off and then on again each time you connect them or they just continue with their previous charging cycle .... not one for the current state of the battery.
Catches a lot of people out.
If you didn't do this, turn it off, wait a moment, turn it on and see whether it will then charge it successfully.

Check all connections are tight, starting with the battery itself.

Regarding optimate, I leave it plugged into a timer, switching on at 8pm and off again at 6am... this is one way to ensure you start a new charging cycle without having to remember to power down the charger.

Looks like I might have fallen foul of this. Bugger!
