OK just spent 2 weeks going through some of the most amazing roads I have ever ridden in my life
came back to dover and decided to take a couple of days getting back home rather than doing an M1 blast all the way..
I'm sorry but the south of England seemed to suck really hard IMO. Straight dual carriageways with 50 limits and speed cameras?
roads that were 50 on straights and then when there is a bend that requires more than 1 degree of lean at 60mph, they drop the limit to 40!
it made for a really depressing ride home actually, I'm seriously considering emigrating to somewhere in france and easy striking distance to those roads!
on the up side, the cameras and 50's did ease up the further north I got
Maybe I just chose all the wrong roads, or is it really that bad down there?
oh yeah - to kick things off we managed an average speed of 20 mph from dover to hastings - 90 minutes of no fun at all on a falco - its just not comfy at crawling speeds
50 mph zones and speed cameras

I hate coming back over here after riding in the rest of western Europe. Over there they have great roads, we only ever have good bits of road.

ive deffo been speed camera'd loads of times..
previously i always hung a chain around the grabrail and the padlock, ahem, slipped down in front of the plate,
then there was a time they had my address wrong so it went to court and I got away with it..
in fact the only time ive got any points is when i was physically pulled over by a police volvo. I was borrowing my dads ZX12 (crazy fast, 100 feels like 40) - apparently the policeman thought i was doing a runner - he had been chasing me for 6 miles and only got me when I got snagged up in traffic. I just pointed at the useless mirrors and said sorry I hadn't noticed :)
fair point about dual carriageways tho tbh we didn't do too many of them, not deliberately anyway
next time i'm down there though i will definitley have to do a little cross checking with you guys to try to hook up with the best roads in the area
but yeah coming back from europe it is apparent they have better roads basically. so it looks like I will be going back!
