Web design difficulties
I'm trying to put tables in my web pages, but can't get them to do what I want them to. On THIS PAGE HERE... I'm trying to get the two columns to be the same width, and to stay in line with the rest of the stuff on the page, but they keep coming out different widths, or disappearing off the page to the right.
I've tried adjusting the sizes of the photos and the video thing, which do occasionally change size afterwards, but not always to the sizes I've chosen, and I've tried changing the widths of the tables, but they always seem to do their own thing regardless of what numbers I put in there.
I can let you have a copy of the code for that page if it'll make things easier.

if you are not a natural coder, use dreamweaver - helps with layout etc

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...
Have a word with Pat (originator of the Fut site http://www.apriliafutura.co.uk/index.shtml )
He designs websites for a living, is very knowledgeable, and likes talking. Think he's on holiday at the moment.
Don't know how often he comes on here - perhaps better to PM him via AF1 Fut forum, or ClubAprilia

It flies sideways through time

I'm sure it's something obvious I've missed, but if you don't know where to look for it....
Be nice to sort it myself, but am stumped with this one.

Have you thought about trying Cascading Style Sheets?
Trying to make things look perfect in raw HTML is a fruitless battle - every browser will do things slightly differently and if the user happens to use non-standard fonts / colours / window size, then everything is completely screwed.

It's the V-twin thing. There's just something about it that inline-4s don't have at all, and V-4s don't have enough of.

CSS is unlikely to be of help in this situation as the table is not the main part of the page
reason why i said about dreamweaver is that you can use the layout/design view to set it as you want - and it produces code compatible for the main browsers
(The DHTML is not as useful as it once was - flash is a lot easier after all!)

How long's it going to take me to learn Dreamweaver though? I could split the problem page into two pages in a day, not what I want, but quick and comparatively easy.

in this instance you are going to use dreamweaver just to generate your problematic code - may even just highlight the code once it has been generated and copy and paste into what you are using
having had a quick look at your source, i think, as it was a very quick look, that the problem may be the page design - you have designed the page as a table, then are using another table with in it - this is called a nested table and can bugger you up fairly quickly
(i am ol;d fashioned but i used frames for my web pages, then tables within the frames....)
have a look at http://www.designplace.org/tutorials.php?c_id=5&page=1 - that is a simple guide that may well help - basically it is about making a table, then another table INSIDE it - in html code/tags
hope that makes sense :)

Ooooo, scary stuff!
Will have a look in a bit, currently doing some artwork for a charity trike ride. Involves drawing a nude lady with big boobs, so that takes priority today

Oh yeah, that website says I need Bit Torrent software, do I? I sort of know what it is, but is that site trustworthy, what other crap/viruses/unwanted toolbars etc. is it going to give me?

Right, downloaded it, but it won't do anything. I've got 2 .DAA files and a Read Me file that's in some secret code I don't understand. How do I make it work?

Not had time today. It was an interesting challenge at first, now it's just time consuming and annoying. Tempting just to give it to someone who can have it all done in a day and stick a proper working shop on there as well. How much to webby types charge?
