...a funny thing happened...

#1 Post by furygan man » Tue Jun 29, 2010 1:04 pm

...yesterday tried to start the bike, the battery must have been low as it tried to fire up but couln't, tried a few times after but nothing, completely dead! Popped on the charger for 1/2 hour got up to 12.9v tried again, nothing, not even a click...'no start' showed on the dash. Giving up i wheeled her down to the shed and just tried one more time and blow me she started!!!

NO START is the result of the tip over switch being triggered :smt017

it's the switch that stops the engine should the bike fall over.

how did it get triggered if the bike was on the side stand being charged? Did me rolling the bike along switch it off/re set the bike??

Maybe it's rattling about loose rather than sitting on its mounting?

Side stand switch is fine and working correctly

Looked at the tilt sensor and it was half in half out of it's cradle

...what a knowledgable lot you are! :smt038

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handle bars to the saddle.
