Englands NOT coming Home, NOT coming home...................
New I'd change their luck if I posted this!
After suffering that lot at least there is something worth watching on BBC4 to cheer me up!
Two of the best guitarists in the world ever.
Winwood and Clapton at Maddison Square Gardens.
If you haven't seen it yet, watch it now it will help you get over the England result!
Almost as good as getting the Falco out.

So it looks like there aren't too many Winwood fans out there?
I was brought up with the sound of the Hammond B3 organ and the Fender Strat and the sight and sound of Steve on an early sixties B3 has me drooling I'm afraid, add Clapton and ................. heaven.

The low spark of high heeled Howards
Take it you're a Blind Faith fan then? Watched them on the telly a few weeks ago playing Hyde Park, Clapton was always better when he was just the guitarist in a band I reckon. I'd like to get some Traffic on CD, I only ever had it on tape.

Better not get me talking too much about Steve Winwood.Nooj wrote:Take it you're a Blind Faith fan then? Many, many years ago I used to spend much of my time in R&B clubs around Sheffield, like the Stringfellow Brothers' Mojo club.
I must have been about 17 when I first saw the Spencer Davis Group and could not believe that this school kid on lead vocal could sing like that, he was a few months younger than me, (he joined Spencer Davis at 15).
I was totally blown away that a kid so young could sing like that and have been a massive fan ever since!
Most of my early albums and singles are on vinyl and have been in a box up in the loft since our last house move more than 13 years ago! So I do not have much Spencer Davis, Traffic or Blind Faith stuff kicking around, possibly an odd tape or two somewhere.
Then probably bought every CD!
Got a Father's Day present yesterday, (after dropping a few hints!)
Steve Winwood - Revolutions, which covers his whole career as well as you can do in 16 tracks -
4 x Spencer Davis Group -
Keep On Running; Somebody Help Me; Gimme Some Lovin'; I'm a man.
4 x Traffic -
Forty Thousand Headmen; Paper Sun; No Face, No Name, No Number;Dear Mr Fantasy.
Just one Blind Faith -
Can't Find My Way Home.
6 x Steve Winwood -
Incuding Valerie;Higher Love; Back in the High Life etc..
And finally - Dirty City with Eric Clapton.
Similar fan of Clapton, (Think I first saw him with John Mayall's Blues Breakers at the Mojo in 1965 along with Jack Bruce), but not bought much of his recent stuff.
If you can get to see the Maddison Square Gardens Show on telly it is well worth it, been on BBC 3 or 4 times over the last few days.

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...
..... and you don't need "goal-line technology" to confirm that either .... just a reversal of their equal opportunities policy that ensures representation of the visually-challenged amongst match officials.Samray wrote:

According to FIFA it didn't!!!
TBH though, whether or not certain decisions had gone differently, you have to wonder whether all of those "world cup deals" that should England win they wouldn't charge you for your new TV etc or would give you better rates of interest at the Building society all got costed up and someone realised it might be cheaper to "incentivise" the squad and manager .......

Now I'd like to post one of those on a lampost outside each football ground that our nancy boys represent.
Its time footballers were paid on the principle of ability, maybe like the Germans who have a fixed top rate.
