World Cup Freebies Get paid £5 per England goal from 02
A special World Cup promotion from O2 means you can get a £5 cash reward for every goal England scores (or you can opt for every goal England concedes) when you grab a special sim card and top up by £15. It's fiddly but potentially profitable.
Is it worth it?
Put simply this is a bet so you need to examine the upside and downside.
•Worse case scenario. England score no goals, that leaves you with the o2 sim but £15 of credit on it, which lasts at least six months and can be used providing your phone is unlocked.
•Scenario based on 2006 World Cup. England scored 6 and let in 2, if that happened again you'd have made £30 in cash which is a £15 profit.
•Extreme example. If England go on a goal rout and get to the final scoring fifteen times, as there's no limit on the cash you'd get £75 which is £60 profit.
There's no maximum payout, 02 has confirmed that even if England were to score 20 goals (£100) everyone will still get the cash. Own goals and penalty shoot outs won't count towards the total.
Step 1: Get the promotional sim card. Sign up to get your free 02 sim card* (you have to get the special 02 goals one). It should be sent to you in 7-14 days. You'll probably miss the fist match, but reigster it straight away to be eligible for the remainder.
Step 2: Top up by £15 & register for the promo. Top up by at least £15, then text 66102 for free with either GOAL or CONCEDE in the message. You'll be sent a registration code which you enter online. Although you have until the last whistle of the last game in the tournament to register do it asap to get the max rewards. If you don't already have a mobile on the 02 network you'll need an unlocked handset, see the Mobile Unlocking guide for full details.
Step 3: Post claim form by 18 July. Once the tournament is over print and fill in the claim form and send it to 'O2 Goals Promotion', Dept 5850, PO Box 99, Aylesbury, Bucks, HP19 8RR before 18 July. You should receive a cheque in 28 days.
Is the sim card any good?
The PAYG rates can be beaten but as you will hopefully at least get your credit back in rewards (if England score at least three goals) it's not an issue. But for full info on choosing a new mobile read the Cheap Mobiles guide.

And I really hate International (and most domestic) football, but it could be worth it!!
