In a survey of 1500 visitors to roadracingworld.com, 413 voted Ben Spies as the best rider of the moment, with Valentino Rossi receiving 398 nods and Nicky Hayden 192.
The survey also asked participants to select their favourite rider of all time, and in this category three time 500cc World Champion Kenny Roberts took the honours with 226 votes, ahead of Kevin Schwantz with 182 and Rossi with 108.
