Been a reedin mags while away this weekend, they have an article on 'roadgoing' bike trackdays, they are gona do 3 in the summmer, NO track preped bikes, must have numberplates, idis, etc.etc. one in Cadwell Aug.17th - £99, am athinkin maybe.....just maybe....

On each event we will also be running Levels 1 and 2 of our NEW Rider Development Programme.

Insurance companies will definately have their 'men' there to take numbers down though as its specifically billed as a roadbike trackday

Bring a number plate with wrong numbers on and change over before you go to the track (but after you leave the queens highway) Just in case etc

Why bother doing anything?

The insurance companies can't stop you riding on a track - in fact it's no business of theirs as they don't even insure you while you are on there.

The only people I can imagine might want to conceal their registration are those that crash on track and then fraudulently claim it happened elsewhere.

Also worth remembering in these days of ambulance chasing that you are not insured if you cause someone elses accident (or they think you did).

I'm not entirely sure about 'no track prepped bikes'. I was under the impression that before you went on track you HAD to tape up all headlight, indicator and mirror glasses, and preferably remove mirrors altogether. The worst thing you can have is people using their mirrors on track days, fretting about somebody passing them or (worst still) trying to block them. In my view removal of mirrors should be compulsory.
