Servicing kit Glasgow
Guys/gals
Hope someone can help. Looking to source the full servicing kit i.e. oil, plugs and filters in the Glasgow area. Bike getting serviced Tuesday. Bearing in mind its a Public Holiday tomorrow where is my best bet? Do Hein Gericke have these in stock? Looked at their online shop but they dont seem to have plugs? Thanks in advance

Hein Gericke should be a good bet, heres a shopping list:
K&N oil filter - KN152
The owner's manual says to use 15W-50 weight oil: Semi-synthetic suggested once ran in.
Two types of NGK plugs are specified by Aprilia for the Falco. DCPR8E or the stock DCPR9E (cooler heat range).
Four sparks plugs are needed - two per cylinder - Ive used NGK Iridium plugs without problem = DCPR9EIX
K&N also do a great reusable air filter (AL-1098) but its pricey at about £45
Lots of great info here:

Good luck - Frank

to my mind the k&n airfilter is pointless - use a standard one
if you want to gain performance then go for evo or renegade solution
(If you are desperate to go for a K&N airfilter then I have a spare second hand one some one can have for 25 quid including postage)

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...
Made a visit to Hein Gericke and despite their claim to be all things to all motorcycles did not have any of the parts required for the Falco.
Next step Ducati Glasgow where I was supplied with an oil filter and the chap attempted to sell me fully synthetic 10w40 which 'all his pals with Aprilias use'. He also offered the NGK DCR9EIX for the plugs.
I took the plugs and the filter in case and my next port of call was Avuss Superbikes in Paisley. They had the semi synth by the barrel load(literally) so took along a petrol can and was given 4 litres of this very rare commodity(at £6 a litre I felt I got a bargain). I questioned the plugs supplied by Ducati and the very very nice and knowledgable young lady suggested that I use the recommended ones and supplied me with 4. What does the P stand for in NGK sparkplugs anyway?
To cut a long story short if looking for Aprilia parts in the Glasgow area give Avuss a look as they couldn't have been more helpful. They are located just opposite St Mirrens new park to assist the footballers among you although I say that with tongue firmly in cheek.

How about from a cost perspective? Ok, the K&N costs £40 delivered on ebay, the oem is £14.91 at my local dealer.Aladinsaneuk wrote:to my mind the k&n airfilter is pointless - use a standard one
That would mean that the K&N pays for itself after 3 changes (cleanings), and you can take it out with every oil change and give it a clean.
Or is it a bad design altogether?
Just a thought.

The k and n one makes value sense in that way but not in terms of performance gains
(just my personal view)
I used to use k&n's for performance in the past.... Not for the falco though!
And for those wanting to save money I guess my 25 quid one a bargain lol
