First track day on Falco coming up...Anglesea 9th May

My first on the Falco coming up. Got the track tyres with OZ wheels ready to go on and chnaging gearing to 15" front and 1 up on the rear. Will let you know how the old girl fares. My guess is the Falco will go very well, as it's so similar to the Mille. If anyone fancies joining me, it's a good cheap day out (for a track day). Only place to ride these bike quickly and safely I would say.

Hi there; it's on Anglesea race track on the 9th may - that's a week on sunday. You can get directions from the circuit's website. I'll be there all day, so say hello if you get there. It's free for spectators and there's decent bacon butty trailer. Just watch the north wales police for speeding - you probably know this!

I do find it amazingly satisfying to scrape things along the track. I remember tying 5 gallon drum lids to my knees when I rode my RGV250 in the 80s. Eeeeeee

I'm hoping the Falco doesn't scrape too much though! Just knees please...

The pegs must be pretty low as Im no trackday junkie,it was the left hand side while at brans.
I took as pic of it snapped off but i struggle posting pics on here

Is that Graham Hill bend then? It's at the bottom of a hill, so there would be compression. I'll have the Faloc on it ear at Anglesea if it's dry, so we'll see what scrapes. I don't have any hero pegs on my Falco, but I'll aim to get those pegs down. Anglesea is very very grippy, so should be easy. Should really get some crash bobbins!!

I'd love to come and watch but it's the Thundersprint that day so I'll have to be there. I live in Northwich so it's 2 minutes from my house.

NO the bike was to unsettled at Graham hill bend it was after the back straight at Surtees.The falco felt really confident from there around clarke curve onto the home straight.

I've never touched the Falco down - but then I don't ride on track.

The word of caution I'd give is that it is not impossible to ride off the edge of the tyres .... someone on AF1 did just this on the road with disastrous consequences. We're fairly sure this is what happened as it occurred when someone was taking pictures of him cornering - the whole thing captured in a series of pictures.

Yes, I'm using some second hand 190 race tyres, so I'm assuming they will be fine. The 180 Michelin tyres on my standard wheels do look quite flat on the edges. My knee went down with plenty to spare on my "test" roundabout using the 190 tyres.

There is a lot of a difference in lean between the road and the track. On my test roundabout there is no way I can touch down (just knee), whereas on the Brands Hatch I was scraping the pegs just like that (pegs, not hero blobs).

Yes, there's quite a difference. Sometimes the extra speed on a track helps it touch down as the suspension is compressed more.
