Newbie- First question....Cans!
Evening all!!
Okay here goes first posting. Brought my 01 Falco (Fast RED) in October last year, it's my first and only ever bike purchased so i'v nothing to compare it too! Had 3 trips so far this year, Saturday's blast from Kettering up to Harborough and around Rutland was awsome...still have a smile on my face!!
I thought i liked the original spec but alas the bug has bitten me, i have added a tinted screen, belly pan, i have a white Mille shox on it's way over from the US, next mods are tail tidy and side stand, possibly the front sprocket change eventually.
End cans- this is the very next mod, have shortlisted Beuwolf, Scorpion and GPR, I'm going for oval and carbon for the looks but would like opinions on the sounds if anyone has these, not looking for baffles out madness, just a meater sound than the stock ones?
Have picked up lots of advice over the past few months from previous posts so thought i'd pop on and say hi
Sorry to waffle on...must get some work done!!![/img]

Hi FGM, Welcome to RiderSite and obviously in particular Aprilia RiderSite!
Glad the Forums have been of use and interesting it's your first ride. Be good to maybe have you do a quick write up of your experience as a new rider on a bigger bike, for the reviews section ( https://www.ridersite.com/viewforum.php?f=29 ) if you find you have time
Someone will probably have a decent answer... they usually do! (as you'll have found out)
In the meantime, feel free to pop in the virtual bar...

Hi and welcome .... another local Falco
The best way to assess the cans is to have a look and a listen to a good variety ..... and it just so happens that we have the perfect opportunity coming up to do just that.

If you can make it that will be great - if you want to ride up there with others I'm sure there will be a few going from this direction (Woodbutcher and me at very least)
If not, then I'm sure others will chip in with their favourites.
I've a Fuel end can and I'm very pleased with it.

i liked the fuel cans i had - rated them highly
but i think the blue flames should also be considered - was very impressed with mine - and i think dyzio would agree with me as well - he now has mine :)
but - come to newark and here the available selections...

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...
LOL .... not "cans" - just the one on mineRenevator wrote:Can't comment on specific Falco use, but if D-Rider's got Fuel cans that must be recommendation. I can say that of the Fuel cans I've seen on other bikes (mostly VFR's) they are beautifully made (British) and sound wonderful - nice & rich.
Rene

I didn't really choose it as being the "best" can (whatever that may be) but it was a combination of good price, I liked the look, it's legal with the baffle in, was very impressed with the build quality and when I ordered it at the bike show, I found them to be such a nice crowd to deal with.
Have a look and a listen to the various options

Thank you all...so i guess what you're saying is "Come to Newark"? The date is noted unfortunatley the my partners Mum will be in recovery from a major op that weekend so will see how the land lies and may be a last minute decision
The Fuel cans got overlooked so they now look the favourites especially as they are a good price and English. I originally looked at the Blue Flame as i liked the look of them but becuase of the Designer in me i didn't think they would sit well with my Fire Red colour scheme!!
'His Nibbbs'- No mines an all red (Fire Red) version, i was with another guy on a Royal Enfield, we were around Rutland on the Sat round about 1-2pm, then he went back to Kettering, i went to Midland Superbikes then back to Hinckley via Foxton, so it seems there is 'another' in the area!
Will see how things go for the 16th, in the meantime thanks for the advice and recomendations!

ah - but the blue flames, if you buy them new, do not have the decals fitted - they are up to the owners to fit....
and the noise is rather nice!
don't get me wrong i was very happy with my fuel cans - well made, english and free kendall mint cake with your order....
