swing arms again, which linkage
before I get a swing arm can someone please remind me which linkages go with which arms and what other parts I should get to make the swop as easy as poss,?
I have found a breakers with a RSVR 03, is this any different to a RSV of the same years ?
I currently have a white spring shock with std Falco linkages, would these linkages do ?
cheers, SP

Hi Skinny - what you've got will work fine.
RSV & RSVR arms are the same. As long as you stick to one no later than '03 there aren't any major complications.
White Spring Sachs uses same linkages as Falco, Yellow spring Sachs (to 03) uses the linkages that were fitted to it on the RSV/R.
Basically up to 03, keep the linkages that came with the shock as fitted to the RSV (true for both Sachs and Ohlins shocks).
Cheers.

This picture may help the bottom falco links are different with a shorter dog bone link, you can mod your falco with a white spring Sachs shock from the years 1999 up to 2001 when they were modified bikes without changing links but you will need the later links and dog bone to fit later shocks unless you want to modify the shock spring etc.
I believe the later shocks were softer and had a shorter spring and have different characteristics.
Someone else may have better info D-Rider?
aah not quick enough with the posting

Just to clarify; Do both the white spring and yellow spring Sachs shocks need any modding?
I recall one of em, (the white spring?), requires the schrader valve to be ground down?
I know the yellow needs the RSV linkages, and the white doesnt, but is there any real-world difference between the two shocks, (assuming condition/mileage is the same)?
Anyone on ere have a set of the linkages to suit the yellow spring?

Two is the magic number... ;)
Hi the white spring Sachs from the early mills are fine on the falco links as the early mille used the same geometry. I believe the same is true of the yellow spring shocks up to year 2001 ish. You may need to file down the valve I fitted a flush one instead.
It's better to fit the later links from the RSV if you have the softer RSV shocks fitted to the bikes with the later geometry.
However bikes have been held in stock for long periods so the only thing to do is to check the part numbers where possible. I believe it is feasible to modify any shock to suit whatever links you have but it may not be cost effective. I know some very light riders have used the later shock with the falco links but it would come down to getting the right sag setting etc.
