Help needed...

#1 Post by Viking » Wed Apr 07, 2010 12:47 am

Hi all,

The clutch slave cylinder seal on my Falco is leaking fluid. :smt009

I've been pricing new ones, and they're all stupidly priced. The local Aus dealer wants AU$42 (that's about 25 quid) plus postage.

Is someone willing to get me one from the FluidPower place mentioned here and post it on to me?

Many thanks,
V
It's the V-twin thing. There's just something about it that inline-4s don't have at all, and V-4s don't have enough of.

Until you get the one from the UK you are welcome to borrow mine, I"m using an MPL slave. Let me know!

Hi, I've just done this job and bought 3. I therefore have a spare if you don't get sorted out - I think I paid £2.50 each

Come on Ian, surely you want the fights paid for as well!
Will that be three adults and one child on the plane or just you?

Thanks everyone!

FalcoPops - Cheers for the offer. The bike's not getting ridden very much at the moment, so no rush to fix it. It's no great strain to top up the master cylinder before I do take the bike out.

Fastasfcuk - If you don't mind sleeping in the doghouse (about 2 feet square), you're welcome to stop over. Can't afford to fly you over, though. I have heard that AirAsiaX are doing good deals at the moment - although they do appear to lose people's luggage with great skill.

ReggieGasket - If you can spare one, I'd love to buy it from you. Just PM me your PayPal details once you know what the postage charge will be and I'll zap you the beer tokens right away. (If you don't do PayPal, we can always work something else out.)

Cheers all,
V

Hmmm.. Stranger and odder it gets... :smt017

Rode the bike to work this morning after it's been sitting since my last post in this thread. The clutch fluid level hasn't changed at all. Yet previously it had lost most of the fluid while sitting idle.

Anyone got any ideas?

Mine did the same thing. Dripped for a while, fluid level dropped, then miraculously cured itself. I changed the seal anyway, and it's been fine. However, as popsted on here many times, the nice clean fluid turned black within a couple of weeks.
