Racing on TV

At last the bikes are going to be back on TV. I guess they will be putting it on at strange times as normal if at all.
So looks like I will subscribe this time around . Already found out not worth trying top up TV so it looks like sky for me . Had a chat to one of there sales team and it seems the cheapest way will be to just get the news channels as you get euro sport as well but what channel is all the racing on, would like to see BSB and WSB so any ideals what channel will be showing them.

Eurosport are showing WSB and MOTO GP, BSB is shown in full on Sky Sports on the evening of race day. Am sure ITV still have the live rights to BSB this season but not sure how good the coverage will be, noticed that they put some races out live on ITV 2 or 3 last year. BBC are also still showing Moto GP.

Should be a good season for WSB on Eurosport plus you get Jamie Whitam doing the co commentary.

Do they / are they? I cant find hide nor hair of this weekends racing on pauperview so I suspect that payperview has copped the lot.

This weekends was WSB so British Eurosport only.

BSB starts on Easter Monday 9th April at Brands Hatch. The Best pay per view place I have found to watch this race would be Clearways, but should be available somewhere on the ITV network.

I've been having the same debate - talked to the TopUpTV Anytime call centre and was given information upon which i bought/subscribed. only to find out now that you can only watch the programmes they decide to send to your set top box (basically a hard drive/recorder). The website is very misleading. So you will only get to watch Eurosport bike racing if they decide its popular enough to send to your box - by which time you will probably know the results.

There is limited live viewing oof Eurosport but only between 7.30am and 10am

You can watch all the other normal and Freeview channels.

So it looks like after all this time I am gonna eventually cough up to SKY

When I looked into Pay to view I was told that they don’t do Eurosport any more.
Saying that just signed up to virgin and was going to post the acceptance this morning and on the TV was a news bulletin that virgin is loosing the rights to show sky programs so think I will have to cancel my contract and see what happens .

Eurosport is not one they are talking about losing (I dont rthink its a sky channel)

Its mainly sky 1 thats going - even sky sports stays AFAIK

Yea Sky 1 and Sky sport news is lost. Are they good channels I haven’t a clue what they show and if the loss of them is worth not having Virgin installed or too go with a dish instead . I am really just interested in the bike racing though the misses likes the footy .

We watch a couple of programmes a week on Sky 1 but thats about it - if youve not seen them before you wouldnt miss it.

Sky sports news is a waste of time anyway.

Its a real difficult choice isnt it - between supporting that smug barsteward and that nasty barsteward. Guess which is which!

Whats the security like on Sky boxes these days? Has some pre pubescent geek broken the codes like they do on everything else?

Whatever you do don't cancel your Virgin media connection (if thats who you are with) I think Mr Murdoch is going to have his balls chopped off. Which I'm all in favour of, nasty barsteward.

We've got NTL .... or Virgin as it seems to have become.
We're still on Analogue Cable TV (until I know how the digital cable box fits in to my TV distribution system compared to the analogue box, I'm not changing).

As for Sky1 - well the rest of the family watch quite a few programmes on it - particularly my middle son - he's especially pissed that it's gone.
The biggest loss for me is The Simpsons !!!! and, to a lesser extent Futurama.
NTL - sorry, Virgin - put up on their website that they've added a lot of things to compensate for the loss .... but this doesn't seem to be the case for their remaining analogue service subscribers.

I went from analogue NTL/Virgin tv to their digital a few months ago. and as far as the connections go it's dead simple. The existing box/socket on the wall that supplies your analoge decoder unit is exactly the same as what supplies the digital decoder. So the new digital box plugs straight in and is up and running in minutes. No rewiring or pulling wires through walls.

Also i rung them up instead of using the internet and got a discount package of the family channel for half price ( tenner a month ). And with it you get eurosport 1 and 2, extreme tv (which sometimes has some good articles on) and motors tv which has loads of obscure domestic and international motorsport on it. Like what eurosport used to have on years ago when you needed a satellite dish. IMHO it's worth the extra for the extra channels and the on demead tv which is something sky users can never have.
