ShHHsh... I shouldn't have done it.

I've not started my new job yet but since I hadn't quite spent all last year's bonus and redundancy money, I've just bought some RSVR2001 OZ wheels and "gold" discs. Hopping to get my hands on them soon.

That'll teach me to go on e-bay after a couple of drinks.

That makes the total of this winter's extravagance to be Ohlins steering damper + Pazzo levers + Oz wheels + engine set up session with Griff.

Nearly forgot, I'm partway through a custom belly pan / fairing lower LOL.

Still it is cheaper than buying a new bike!

Yes fella, the need to spend the money to improve your ride
As for the mods, they are great mods to do, the wheels make a HUGE difference imho

But hey, we are all guilty on here for the "need!"

Once I can get them unseen into the garage I'm pretty much ok but despite being at home alone all week waiting for deliveries with her at work, the "law of Sod" dictates that on the odd day she has stayed at home or left late, strange packages have turned up needing a signature.

I would have been in deep do do if I'd won those CF wheels and got 'noticed'.

Apart from it reverting back to mid winter, I enjoyed my half day at Griff’s place.
Valve clearances checked and ok, in fact pretty much the same as previous except one or two that were on the limit of being tight, are now in range. TBs were fine too and it seems that my Aprilia Racing chip doesn’t use the CO trim pots.
Mixture was adjusted and leaned off a little.
A thorough going over with a few little tweaks here and there such as where the throttle actuation arm was bent, butterfly valves needed tightening, cables re -routed slightly. All in all not a lot of maintenance for the first “professional” check up in 45,000 miles.
The bike definitely feels “crisper “ which since it wasn’t exactly soggy before, is quite an achievement.
Fair money for the time and effort involved (I’m a bit tight) .Here is to the next 45K and many thanks to Griff and team.

There really is no substitute for having one's bolide fettled by someone who really knows what they're about... Back when I owned a VFR, I had it serviced by Ron at Wylie & Holland Motorcycles in Wellington, even though I had to ride over from Stafford to get it done.

Every time on the ride back I'd be astonished at how much tighter, smoother and sharper everything was. Money well spent.
