Was passing the bike shop where I usually get the bike MOT'd and since it is due soon stopped to make an appointment. They had just had a cancellation and could do it on the spot. I hadn't given it a check over for a while but thought I'd give it a go.
Passed with flying colours, said it was almost like a new bike. Rear tyre a little worn still legal but needs replacing soon. Recond I obviously enjoyed my motorcycling. He also liked my nifty tail pack, wind deflectors and the sound....
Not bad for over 45K and getting on for 10 years old.
I've booked in with Griff to check TB's and CO2 etc. They've not been touched in the 40K of my ownership and I'll be interested to see if they need adjusting.
Oh and by the way I am treating the bike to a little overdue TLC as having been working for myself part time for the last 10 months, I've just got a full time job again.

Yes I'm glad to be going back in salaried employment. Because I've been working for myself with a fair bit of flexibility and 'free' time the missus and kids seem to think I can do lots of 'chores' and run them around pretty much on demand. My view is I'm supposed to be learning new tricks , trying to sell my skills and looking for a full time position. It has been hard to find enough paid work to fill my time and of course when I've found work, the rate hasn't been great.
Bike has been running great though. I've just swapped over to a cleaner air filter (I have two washable ones, the EVO and a K&N) and re made the under tank seal. The Evo kit is a bit of a palaver and doesn't stop everything getting past the filter. May drop to 15T on the front now as I'll be using it to commute the 20 miles into Leicester rather than the 80 motorway miles each way, I was doing for my previous job.
No advisory notice on the MOT, just chit chat.

Or go where I go in Coventry (Birmingham end) .... He'll check the bike for roadworthiness but not get worked up about your cans as long as you don't take the piss arriving and leaving the premises.rick wrote:Congrats on job and MOT :)
