http://www.rsvzone.com/forums/showthrea ... irbox+mods
NOW .....what i need to know from the knowledge that is you lot ........with doing this have i f##ked up and wasted my money

as i've now lost the ram air or have i lucked in and made a good move ?????

.....
Also i'm thinking of adding an rsvr swinging arm as well so does anyone know how easy / difficult for a muppet like me ......this is going to be ?.....and what do i need to buy to make it all fit ................OH and is it worth it ??
AND LAST BUT BY NO MEANS LEAST .......HOW ON EARTH DO I POST SOME PHOTOS OF MY GORGEOUS BIKE ON THIS SITE
Am stuck in Africa working at the moment but heading home in about two weeks time so looking to play with the toy and maybe get the swinging arm done before the summer gets here ..............there is going to be a summer this year......isn't there ????

nope
good mod
plus 5bhp
and awesome induction roar
mille swing arm is easy - but get bearings to replace when you do it
oh - and i would suggest an abba stand with the footrest mounts..... makes life a lot easier
BadgerPubes will be along shortly to tell you about posting images.....
(he will kill me for that one....)
Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Definitely FKD the ram air then. All roar and no go
Swing arm mod isn't worth the effort unless of course youre cosmetically challenged.
Can't help with posting pics as I'm intellectualy challenged. The summer will get here and we will see some dry roads and sunshine in the not too distant future. Just watch for pot holes, horse shit, tar stripes, diesel, sunday drivers, fly tipping and of course plod.
Oh and if it actualy gets warm the roads melt so you 'll have to watch out for that as well.
Enjoy Africa its probably very nice........

So there's a variant of the Mille swingarm that automatically adds ride height? Funny; I thought that was down to the ride-height adjuster on the shock...

I can sympathise with that one - I am in Kenya until probably mid May. The up-side being that it should be summer-ish by the time I get back.

Well i knew it was going to be 50 / 50 ......one for yes and one for no .........apparently he's sold a lot of these things and everyone who's had one is happy enough .........BUT then on the other side it does do away with the ram air ...........
On my last Falco i had the evo airbox mod from RSVR.NET which is not far off what i've fitted although it had a rubber skirt going all around the outside sealing it with the tank when fitted and that was meant to be alright ......wasn't it ??? Will be honest and say i was thinking of doing something along the same lines with this mod just to see but how much more it would gain in real road riding life ......
The good side is it sounds awesome and i do feel maybe just a little bit responsive as well ........question is can i be bothered to refit the old airbox again to test it .......
As for the swinging arm not that fussed about fitting it and if it makes no difference then sod that ..............
Will try and get some photos posted so i can show off my new ......and very nearly finished .........baby .......
Once more thanks for the response lads ............as always a mass of knowledge ...........even if one of you is call Badgerpubes !!!!

One last thing as well ...........i've just been told that the ram air doesn't really come in to it's own until high up the speed mark .....130 mph + ........if this is true then it's better to have the grunt lower down ............isn't it ....
Thought this one may get the gods talking as well ..........

My "all roar and no go" comment was kinda tounge in cheek. Looking to see if it might get some one going....
I have the Evo air box mod on mine which maintains the ram air, for what ever thats worth and provides a larger air box volume. A well designed ram air can be felt above 60 but I'm not sure the Falco's is. Too much interconnected poorly fitted plumming and not the best spot for the intakes either, so I'm not sure it adds much. Maybe a more significant factor might be that the air is cooler than that sucked from above the engine which will help low down too.

Think all your points are correct, seals are not good enough for a decent ram air effect, (especially the joint at the frame), but it does deliver cooler air, which is good.
Still sounds great though.

YAHOOOOOOOOOO .............I think this could be a first you know

.....people are finally agreeing that this one mod is worth a go and is a good idea ....
Think i'm going to have a go at trying to make a better seal with it when i get home by making a rubber seal like the EVO but for now at least i can rest easy ....
Will post some photos soon as i now have the link to do it and the no how ............so i think
ONCE AGAIN THANKS ......
