I've joined the leaky clutch club. I've seen the link about buying a seal. Does anyone have the instructions for doing the job or should I use the PDF workshop manual?

From what I remember it was all fairly obvious and straightforward ... though bleeding the thing when you've done it can be a PITA.
I'd recommend you invest in a banjo bolt with a bleed nipple to attach at the master cylinder and also follow kzmille's guide to bleeding.

I changed mine and it was a very simple job. Bleeding was dead easy too.

Thanks. Where actually is the seal that leaks? SOrry never had a hydraulic clutch before

In the slave cylinder - on the LHS of the crankcase - just in front of the final drive sprocket.

Thanks. I see from the Workshop Manual there is a small cylinder with a piston inside it. They don't use the term slave cylinder, but I guess that must be it. Does the seal make the barrier between this and the crankcase then? Will get out in the garage and have a look when it warms up a bit!

My advice is to dispense with the OE unit and invest in an MPL one. Makes the clutch operation appreciably lighter.

Bleeding was an issue with me, even with a bleeding kit. I am not sure where the air hides, buit it is a bugger to get out. Not a difficult job though - I did it.

i did not have any problems bleeding mine when i changed to the mpl , but i did have to have my clutch lever set to full through to compinsate for the extra volume of fluid you need for the bigger slave , it does not work well on any other setting

Seastar reckon they can't get the seal and need a new cylinder, is this true??????

Edit: b'stards. I found one on ebau for 12 quid and maxmoto are selling them for 11 quid.

... or you could look in our Aprilia Technical section and buy the one we have found at the princely sum of £2.10 ...............
