Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Check here:

Always got the best quote through them.
Last one was £270. 27YO, 3 years license&NCB, bike is much standard though.

All mods declared excapt the power commander (Which is still in the kitchen at the moment) Didn't push my premium up because mods are purely cosmetic, but will only replace with standard parts in the event of an accident

Hi Tommy, Please still check carefully through the paperwork as this year i had a nightmare experience with Carole Nash.
Now bearing in mind they insured me last year and ALL mods were declared, this year i decided to renew with them as their quotes were comparable with the other top insurer brands.
I spoke to SEVEN different staff members, each time running through all the mods and every time i was told " we'll have to put this through the underwriters and we'll call you back" (hence the seven calls.) and they never did.
I was called back finally and given a decent quote which was only £10 more than the best quote i'd had (Footman James) so i asked her (Jackie Donohue) to confirm in an e-mail all of the info which she duly did, so i went ahead and bought the insurance.
£275.80 for two motorcycles fully comp with European breakdown cover, Relay, Home start, Roadside assistance, medical assistance, no claims protection, £50K legal protection etc,etc.
Unfortunately it doesn't mean squat when you read through the paperwork and find NONE of the mods have been forwarded on to the insurance company so i wasn't actually fully insured!
They then wanted a further £180 to cover me with another Insurance group- needless to say I went with Footman James......... and checked through all the paperwork. (i'm fully covered for all the mods some of which they say are actually accessories.)
Be warned.
Mick.

Of all the insurers, Carole Gnash should really give themselves a hard look for acting like that.
Which Insurer is at all the shows with a stand FULL of custom and modified machinery? .... sometimes with a "build your own" thing as well. Carole Nash - that's who!
They actively promote customisation and modification ...... so why oh why is anyone having problems with them insuring something that compared to the bikes on their stand, fairly lightly modified.
Might be worth a letter to them demanding that they explain .....

Just tried that simply insurance lot, wouldn't even quote me as I had said yes to 'modifications'. They don't even give you the chance to say what they are!
Back to the drawing board.......insurance companies really don't like non-standard bikes, declaring the mods on quotes is killing me, all I've got is end cans, OZ wheels and a belly pan.

Did you call them or use internet quote. I called them, much easier in my eyes.

Thats a huge difference. Surely can't be right. Mine was £350 quid last year with them.

I guess we're lucky we don't have RSV4s - from the discussion on Club Aprilia, there is only ONE insurer that will cover them (ebike).

I'll try giving them a call Tommy, cheers.
I'm really p***ed of with this insurance lark, just to clarify on generally what people declare;
No Brainer;
Cans / exhaust
PCIII
Chip
Oz rims
Re-spray / fairings etc
But what about;
New leavers
New decals (one insurance company had this on their list)
D’bouble screen
Braided lines
Gear / sprocket change
I’m just after some general opinion or guidance, as declaring some /all or a mixture of the above has left me un-insurable it would seem.
