Hi all,
Have you got an alley engineering works near you at all? I had a ding on mine, took it to them, they welded some alley into it
I then set about filling and sanding it down. Then it polished up, all's well and then promptly powder coated it

Mine had the dink in it too. The place I took it to did a brilliant job. They drilled a small hole behind it and from the inside, knocked it out to it's original shape - you just couldn't see that it had ever been dented. Then they welded up the hole they had drilled.
After that I had it powder coated - which looked great.
However, after a while, I found that the Muck Off cleaner I was using attacked the finish of the powder coating and it became very matt.
The easiest solution was to pop on some of those carbon covers .... which I won on ebay (for a little bit more than I hoped to pay).
I am really pleased with them - they do look good.

Yes .... Aprilia has a special tool .... not cheap.
.......... so it's just as well that the Shimano Freewheel tool fits (about a fiver - got mine from Halfords but I think most cycle shops do them)
