Renegade Carbon Air Plate...

#1 Post by GregD-UK » Tue Dec 15, 2009 10:02 pm

Hi all,

Have a Renny Carbon Air Plate, with a large sponge air filter over :smt003 Was thinking of putting just two mushroom filters where the velocity stacks go :smt023 Therefore dispensing of the air filter, would that cause a depletion of air, or do I need the surface area of an normal air filter to get sufficient air into the stacks?

Just wondering.....

I think your biggest problem would be supporting the mushroom filters to prevent them collapsing due to the intake pressure when you open the throttle. On the Tuono the std square filter was collapsing on one side on my Rene system

I'd also agree with your thoughts on dramatically reducing the amount of air getting through, we know these motors love lots of air and I reckon smaller filters would mean a big reduction

Jorge really knows his stuff and spent a long time on developing this system, to be honest I reckon if the mushroom filter idea was a winner he's have used it

IMHO I'd leave it on the std filter and keep it spotlessly clean
