Fed Up With Looking At Your Elbows?

#1 Post by D-Rider » Thu Dec 03, 2009 11:32 am

Some of you may be aware of the thread in the Aprilia Technical section that reported the existence of Genuine Aprilia Long Stem Mirrors that fit the Falco.
https://www.ridersite.com/viewtopic.php?t=4866

Well, I've found some on ebay (4 sets remaining at the time of posting this):
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWAX:IT

[By the way, I've only posted these up as they are on a "Buy It Now" and this will not interfere with any of us lying in wait to snipe as would be the case with auction items]

I checked with the seller:
Question asked on ebay wrote:Dear motosport_aprilia,

Hi
I know that Aprilia makes mirrors for the new shape RS125 with 2 different stem lengths. From the picture you are showing, it looks as though these may be the longer stem parts (part numbers 852151 and 852152). Can you please confirm whether the mirrors you are selling are the longer stem items?
Many thanks
Andy.

I received this reply:

Nice one, Andy. I've grabbed a pair.

And I think they're the last pair, as well...

Glad you all appreciated the link ..... now I'm hoping that they really are right about them being the long stem ones ......

Damn.

Just looked at the eBay link and they're all gone. Curses!
It's the V-twin thing. There's just something about it that inline-4s don't have at all, and V-4s don't have enough of.

Very Annoyed

Mine arrived today - They are the SHORT ones - not the part numbers I enquired about.

The bag that one of them is in even has the part number on it and that confirms it is wrong.

Pete - you mentioned yours have come too - are yours wrong as well?

I shall be contacting the seller ........................

Very sorry if I've misled anyone - I did what I could to check it out !

Bugger. Same here. I've requested a refund/return of the parts, as mine are also the standard Falco mirrors.

It looks as though it may just have been a mix up in sending the parts ....

I sent this to them:
Dear motosport_aprilia,

Before I bought these mirrors I asked this question:
"Hi
I know that Aprilia makes mirrors for the new shape RS125 with 2 different stem lengths. From the picture you are showing, it looks as though these may be the longer stem parts (part numbers 852151 and 852152). Can you please confirm whether the mirrors you are selling are the longer stem items?
Many thanks
Andy."

You replied:
"Dear andycb400,
hi yes they are the longer stem ones
thanks
steve
Motosport"

The mirrors arrived to day. I am very disappointed to find that they are not the longer stem items with the part numbers I specified but are the standard items (AP8102632 & AP8102633).
Also, at least 3 other people that I know have ordered these as I passed on to them the information you gave me.
Is this just a simple mix up and you have just sent out the wrong items or was the information you sent me earlier incorrect?
If you have the right parts, please confirm how I exchange otherwise I would like a refund.

- andycb400
They replied:
Dear andycb400,

Hi there has been a mix up with the parts if you want to retunrn them to us we will exchange them
regards
motosport

- motosport_aprilia
So I've followed up:
Dear motosport_aprilia,

OK - that sounds good - please provide me with a return address and I'll send them back to you.
Do you want me to send them standard first class mail or recorded delivery? Once I've sent them, I'll let you know how much the postage cost so that you can refund this to me.
Thanks
Andy

Hopefully we will all get this sorted out :smt003

Yes, I got a similar response (which was encouraging), so I'll be returning them for the correct replacement.

So I'll have had my hands on two pairs... :smt003
