Falcos in unexpected places...
Morning all,
As I mentioned over at the Bar, I just got back from 10 days in Cambodia & Vietnam.
Whilst I was there, I was wondering what it would have been like to ride the Falco through the buzzing hordes of scooters, and pondering what people's reactions would have been.
To my surprise, I was almost run over by a Falco! I was emulating the locals and ignoring the traffic lights, and the Falco was running the light as well. It was the corner of 'Hang Bong' and 'Ly Quoc Su', if it matters.
All I managed to see was the tail section (white with a wide red stripe down the centre), the letters 'SL1000R' proudly displayed, and the rear as it shot off down the street.
Has anyone else seen a Falco in a thoroughly unexpected place?
Cheers,
Viking

It's the V-twin thing. There's just something about it that inline-4s don't have at all, and V-4s don't have enough of.

Hi and welcomesport53 wrote:Well not sure if it would be classed as an unusual place but my Falco lives and rides in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, just across the South China Sea from Vietnam.
My Falco is also often spotted running the red lights with his fireblade mate and the hords of scooters, or Kapchai as they are called here.

... can you please make sure that you don't miss the next time you encounter Viking ..........

Hmmm.... Me thinks that D-Rider is having a bad day.
Here mate, have another drink or several - all on my tab.
(It's kind of funny actually. I was in KL on Monday night, except I never left the airport.)

LOL - you're far enough away for me to threaten you in safety! ... though while you've got the bar open I'll withdraw my ill wishes and join you for a jar or two.
What Ausie brews have we got on the go ... can only remember VB from the time I visited that part of the world.
Like you I've visited a number of countries/cities but have just been contained in an airport ... you just feel that you've been there - but not been there at the same time.
Hope you enjoyed your hols.
I've seen quite a few Falcos together (meeting up with people from here) but very few that I didn't expect to see.
I guess the 2 that come to mind was I was followed out of Mallory Park by one on the way home from British Superbikes, the other was coming out of the local B&Q (DIY store). Not very unusual places but just a bit of a surprise.

You seem to be forgetting seeing one enter then reappear from a small roadside quarry type thingD-Rider wrote:LOL - you're far enough away for me to threaten you in safety! ... though while you've got the bar open I'll withdraw my ill wishes and join you for a jar or two.

That was as an unusual place as I can recall.

"Whoever it was" was so lucky that they ran out of road in a place conveniently equipped with emergency run-off!
