JHS are very good, I've used them in the past. I remember reading somebody somewhere had their PCIII set up there.

Mind ytou I think 14kish is just an oil change and 'checks' (not valve clearances) so any old place can do it.

Thanks chaps, ill check out JHS
Also youre right, if its just an oil change etc I should be able to do it myself.....still new to this biking malarky, time to ge off my lazy arse, get the bike on a paddock stand and give it a proper working over.

again i appreciate the replies....

time for some new tyres too .....presently have the diablo's ....will give the BT 021's a go next

on the case

Dave

Beware BT021 Fronts - there are reports of front tyres wearing out quicker than rears. From first hand experience the one that I have not long changed on my wife's VFR had done less than 500 miles and was absolutely shagged. The guy at the tyre fitting place I use said it wasn't the first time he had heard that about these tyres.

Some advocate BT021 rear (dual compound, very good) with a BT020 front which is what 'Er Indoors' bike is now running and seems fine.

I am currently running Michelin PR2's which are outstanding if a little pricey.

Valve check is not part of the 14k service - look at the User or Workshop manual to confirm.

TB balance is easy with a carbtune or similar - though is not something that needs to be done so often.

Workshop manual gives the complete list of what should be done at 14k miles.

Those that don't have it, download from Martin Poll:
