Hello from an AF1 reject

#1 Post by Falco Frank » Fri Oct 23, 2009 11:42 am

Well, not really but I thought I'd say Hi anyways as I recognise a few peeps from AF1....

I've been looking for a UK version of AF1 but I guess I'd not looked THAT hard but I like the ease of use of the forum here,
so you might have to put up with me for a while :smt008

Erm....OK - 40ish rider in the North East never really stopped since I was 14!!!

Bought my Falco on a whim (very lucky, really) from Ebay and trailered it back from Portsmouth in 2006, loved it straight away
and then the mods began:

Braided Hoses
High rise screen
Forks dropped through yolks; clipons mounted above top yolk
Staintune silencers: (+)Stainless steel, lovely & quiet (-)No BSI stamp so always looking for the fuzz
Billet clutch master
Brembo P34 4-Pad callipers
Iridium plugs
K+N Oil filter / home service

then things got silly :smt003

Oz Wheels
Carbon Front mudguard
Braking Wavey discs
Evo airbox box & freeflow filter
Mirrors blanked off; Bar end mirrors fitted
Ducati 900ss rear indicators fitted - cos I wanted to!

and Erm just last week I now have a pair of Ohlins RSVR forks and yolks to fit over winter :smt077

Here is a pic of her near Roseberry Topping quite sometime ago

Cheers - Frank

PS - Mine is called Amadeus......

Welcome Frank.

Some nice mods but surprisingly because its usually one of the first, you have not listed a rear shock change.
Don't put off 'till tomorrow what you can enjoy today

welcome

nice to see a picture of the rider and his bike - tell me, does your helmet ruffle your wattle?

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

LOL, yes - Its been murder getting 0.01 weight fork springs as well ;)

I just happened to snap the shot as the little bugger ran past so its stuck as a bit unusual.

Oh yes, of course I did a rear shox mod; RSV linkage but with a brand new RSVR sachs shox I got from DK Motorcycles Ebay shop,
I figured it would be less expensive than going straight for an Ohlins (wrong)

Anyway - I now have a Ohlins body & remote preload adjuster waiting for me to buy a correct spring as an additional mod over winter:
I cant wait for spring really LOL.

Hi Frank, in case you don't have a spring stockist in mind, try these guys:

http://www.dfaulknersprings.com/

I've used them a few times and they're excellent. You will need to know the spring rate and dimensions you require, but that's not too dificult to figure out.

Welcome!

Hi and welcome .... good to see you've found your way over to this forum too :smt002

I've got many of the same mods as you have but not done the pheasant accessory yet.
Tried fitting a pigeon once but it wasn't so successful - it cracked my mudguard and the pigeon exploded ..... though that was a good excuse for a carbon mudguard.

.... I guess I'm just going to have to scour ebay for a bird to outdo your pheasant .....
