IT Numpie . . . continued
Sorry, can't seem to fit all this in one post.
Running Widows Vista
Activated Macaffee free 30-day trial last weekend; have received several automatic updates. Had also downloaded free AVG ant-virus software.
Clicked on 'Check for new solutions' - got ' No new solutions found'
So far, PC, and IE seem to be working OK.
Just checked 'Problem History again - it has now been reported, but still 'no new solutions'
Should I be worrying about this? If so, I'd be really grateful for suggestions please- bearing in mind I a really am an IT numptie.

Have you had this more than once Mart?
svchost.exe is a host app for services that run from a dll
The dll in this case is dhcpcsvc.DLL and is part of windows. It is the DHCP Client Service. This is used to get your PCs IP address from the DHCP server.
Not sure why it's crashed but if it doesn't keep doing it after you've rebooted the machine then don't worry.
I see you're running Vista - I've never used a Vista machine (and hope I never will) ... it'll be straight to windows 7 from XP for me.
Oh, and don't run 2 Anti virus programs at the same time ... that tends to be bad news ...

Yes. March and last November. Is that significant?D-Rider wrote:Have you had this more than once Mart?
Everything seems to have behaved itself, though. Must have missed their notifications.
As for the rest of your reply, well, it may as well have been ανοησίες, or even כִּיס הָאֲשָׁכִים . But thanks all the same.
Macaffee now banished. Not sure how I ended up with both av things.

My tab's behind the bar for all concerned.

Well, I'd venture that happening with that sort of frequency is what I'd class as a minor irritation and not be particularly bothered by it.
If, for some reason, it gets a lot more frequent or causes you other problems then we'll think again.
Glad I managed to baffle you with bullshit - I had to be able to manage it oneday.
