falco non start!

#1 Post by roosterNI » Sun Oct 18, 2009 10:44 am

hi, have problem with my 01 falco, went out this morning to check oil levels/ tyre pressures before i went out for a blast, so started bike up, let it run for a while, noticed the temp heading up towards 100, and usually fans are on by this stage so realized i had left the connectors of the fan switch on the left hand side of the bike, switched bike off, lifted tank, put connectors back on lowered tank, went to start bike, all i got was a constant clicking from what i think is the fuel pump relay, the bike will turn over but not start, lifted tank again to check i hadnt pulled a wire out or connector loose and cant find anything, any ideas?

with the ignition on, the fuel pump constantly clicks, if i put my hand on the bottom of the tank i can feel the pump pulsing, with ignition on, and fuel pump disconnected the clicking from relay stops.

you might have trapped a fuel line when lowering the tank

On the AF1 site there's been a couple of broken wires where the tank electrics go through a resin plug. Buggered if I know where, but go over and have a search.
