Anyone?
Thoughts?
I am about to receive a single sided exhaust from an 02 Mille, (Ebay; £19! To show off that swinger, Baby!

), and was considering getting an open chip when I spotted the above item.
Im intrigued.
Oh, I will also try one of my Titanium Race Cans, though Im unsure of their make as there are no stamps or stickers on. Anybody identify em?...

Installation would appear, (assuming it works), a lot safer/easier than putting a new chip in; I know how fragile the pins can be!
Doesnt cost much so I figured I might get one to see if I notice a difference in the bike.
Unless of course someone much more informed than I has heard bad things about them?...

Theyre bollocks.
All they are are a ..errm..4.7 k ohm resistor in a natty little box. grand total about 5 pence.
Dont waste your money.
They do work however you can make one yourself cheaper.
The idea came from the US dragstrips.
check out install university for the lowdown on them.
But seriously...
Read install university, (if you can find the thread) then visit maplins with 10 pence in yer mitt.
All they do is inform the ECU the air temp is different.
It will modify any standard ECU by telling the ECU that the incoming air in the intake system is cold and so advances the ignition to compensate producing more power. In many cases fuel economy is increased too. Power is increased by up to 15BHP and torque is increased significantly.
The install University article that started it all:

Hi Falcomunky,
I'm also doing the mille single pipe mod.
How are you planning to fit it? I see that like me, you have a Skidmarx (or RSVR?) bellypan.
It seems that the mille oil tank won't fit with this bellypan ... so are you planning to leave the bellypan off or do you have some cunning plan to use the falco oil tank but avoid it interfering with the mille pipework?
I've toyed with modifying the falco oil tank but I'm more likely to retain the falco front downpipe and modify the mid section pipework (the bit that joins the two exhausts together.
If you've got a better (easier) idea, I'd be really glad to hear it.
Cheers.

As an aside.. your single can mod..
is it coming with a can or sans can?
The thing I was thinking (amongst thoughts of willow from Buffy the vampire slayer, a large pot of whipped cream and a rampant rabbit) was that swapping to a single exit will require that system to be of a slightly larger bore of pipe in order to allow the zorst gasses to escape. your current pipework looks a tad anorexically bored (sorry..standard) to that end, moving across to a single bore pipe.. will your twin cans fit?
if they do, I would expect a loss of power as the previously freelowing exhaust gasses would be queuing up to exit.. I would be expecting a larger bore pipe than your current titanium can has
just musing.
anyways.. back off to think about willow again...

Yes Kwackerz, the bore is bigger following the join in the pipes. I've bought a new Fuel can for a mille to go with the mille pipework.

That was all that got me wondering that's all.
That'll look the mutts nuts with a single can mod.

Bet it'll sound like a beast too!

Ah - I hadn't spotted that Kwackerz ... maybe Fastasfcuk hasn't realised that a Falco can won't fit.

Funny thing: have you noticed that one of the most bling-bling mods for Falcos is single-pipe conversion, whereas for Milles and early Tuonos...Yes, you guessed.
I'm not criticizing, just noticing.
I know it makes sense once you've got Mille swinger. Domino's effect.

I am not sure.... this is the one mod I cant quite get excited about. Ive seen pics on the AF1 site, and on the one hand I like the symmetry the dual-can gives, but I also like the exposed mille swinger

If the ecu thinks the air is colder, therefore receiving a greater quantity of air, it must be squirting in more fuel to match, making the bike run rich? Anyone suggest how this might improve mpg, as stated?

(Not that I'm planning on buying one!)

I don't know if you have all the parts to do this mod? But I have noticed on e-bay (search, aprilia rsv) page 3 some parts that may be of interest BIN and a fair BIN IMHO

P.S I'm with Syltiz on this mod.
